COMPOSITES MANAGER – SW Michigan, USA

This newly created position offers a significant career opportunity to an ambitious composites laminator / technician wishing to take on a new career challenge.  

Located in one of the rapidly growing high-technology areas of Southeast Michigan, our client is a major tooling supplier to the aerospace, defence and space industry markets. They are providers of composite tooling, parts, fixtures, gages and R&D projects and this newly created role is part of their broader expansion into new areas of composite parts production.

Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Business Development, you will be a key member of the team charged with growing and building the composite business.    

Candidates will ideally have the following:

  • 5 + years experience of high performance composites
  •  A sound knowledge of production processes and parts manufacturing, including:-  Autoclave Cures, Out of Autoclave Cures, Oven Curing, Resin Infusion, Wet Laminating, Vacuum Bagging, Trimming and Quasi-Layup.  
  • Experience of  high temperature epoxies; Pre-Preg materials (carbon, glass, phenolic); standard fiberglass and chop gun layups.
  • Be capable of building, training and leading a team of composite technicians for manufacturing of composite parts and tooling

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER  - Northants, UK

An immediate opportunity exists for a Quality Assurance manager with a knowledge of carbon fibre composites parts manufacturing to join a Midlands based company with a reputation for producing high quality structural components for customers within the OEM Automotive and Motorsport Industries.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Taking a lead role in interpreting customer requirements from both Motorsport + OEM disciplines.
  • Developing customer standards of quality signoff to ensure that parts meet visual standards. 
  • Liaising with OEM quality engineers on process change requests for approval.  
  • Review manufacturing practises to reduce overheads and potential quality pitfalls. 
  • Analysis of CAD models to extract geometric tolerances, dimensions, visual aspects of Motorsport and OEM components. 

You must be dynamic in your work ethic and able to deal with real time requests from operatives / supervisors/ directors and have an analytical approach to prioritising work load and task set out.
